XY-plane selection
Command G02 or G03 with a designation for the third axis allows synchronous circular interpolation on the plane specified by plane-selection command G17, G18 or G19 with the linear interpolation on the third axis. Commands G2.1 and G3.1 provide such an interpolation that the starting and ending points are connected smoothly for an arc command where the radii of the both points differ from each (Normal circular interpolation) Ending point (Spiral interpolation) Ending point Starting point rs
G17 is modal (group 02) — it stays in effect until another code of the same group replaces it.
Initial state: a parameter can select G17 as the initial modal condition — what your machine wakes up in depends on that setting.
