Longitudinal cut-off cycle

Machine-specific. This G-code reference is specific to the Mazak INTEGREX e-670H / e-670H-S with the MAZATROL SmoothX control (EIA/ISO programming manual H747PB0030E). G-code availability depends on fitted options, and groups and behaviour differ between Mazak models and control generations — verify against the manual for your own machine before programming with any code.
What it does

This function is used for smooth disposal of machining chips in longitudinal cut-off machining. For SS materials which produce hard-to-cut machining chips this function can be managed for easy machining chip disposal. This function is used for smooth disposal of machining chips in transverse cut-off machining. This allows easy disposal of machining chips in face turning as well.

G274 is modal (group 09) — it stays in effect until another code of the same group replaces it.

Address words
  • e : Return distance
  • The value is modal and remains valid until it is overwritten with a new value.
  • x : Final X-axis position in absolute/incremental data
  • z : Final Z-axis position in absolute/incremental data
  • i : X-axis movement step (in an absolute value)
  • k : Z-axis depth of cut (in an absolute value)
  • d : Tool escape distance at the bottom of cut
  • Normally set in an absolute value. When omitting the arguments X and P, however, set
  • the value with a sign as required for the direction of escape.
  • f : Feed function (rate of feed)
  • s : Spindle function
  • The distance “e” is set by parameter TC74 (pecking return distance in grooving process).
  • A d
  • i
