Corner arc for tool radius compensation

Machine-specific. This G-code reference is specific to the Mazak INTEGREX e-670H / e-670H-S with the MAZATROL SmoothX control (EIA/ISO programming manual H747PB0030E). G-code availability depends on fitted options, and groups and behaviour differ between Mazak models and control generations — verify against the manual for your own machine before programming with any code.
What it does

When command G39 (corner-arc interpolation) is used, the coordinates of the crossing points at workpiece corners will not be calculated and an arc with offset data as its radius will be Using command G38, you can change or retain offset vectors during tool radius compensation. Setting G38 in a block that contains move commands allows crossing-point calculation at the ending point of that block to be cancelled and the vectors in the preceding block to be retained. This can be used for pick and feed operations. The directions of new offset vectors can be designated using I, J, and K (I, J, and K depend on the selected type of plane), and offset data can be designated using D. (These commands can be included in the same block as that which contains move commands.) 3. Changing the offset direction during tool radius compensation The offset direction is determined by the type of tool radius compensation command (G41 or G42) and the sign (plus or minus) of the offset data. The offset direction can be changed by updating the offset command without having to cancel the compensation mode. […]

G39 is one-shot (group 00) — it is valid only in the block where it is entered.

Notes & precautions
