Cutting point command (Type 2) ON
Cutting point command function provides a special type of tool-tip point control in order that the cutting point (point of contact between tool and workpiece for chip removal) may precisely describe a tool path as programmed on the machining surface. Therefore, the tool path itself, once described in a machining program, need not be modified according as the geometry (tool diameter, corner radius, etc.) of the tool to be used is changed, which is not the case with the ordinary tool-tip point control. This function is valid only for five-axis control machines.
