Automatic corner override
Automatic corner override refers to a function for decreasing the rate of feed automatically at corners on the tool path so as to reduce the tool load. The function contributes toward enhancing the surface quality in inner-corner cutting, or automatic inner-corner rounding (,R), in the mode of tool radius compensation. “Inner corner” denotes an inside corner made of linear or circular segments. “Automatic corner rounding (,R)” denotes a corner which is made of linear segments only and to be rounded with a radius specified using a special address ,R. Once command G62 has been given, the automatic corner override function will remain valid until it is cancelled by tool radius compensation cancellation (G40), exact-stop check mode (G61), geometry compensation mode (G61.1), tapping mode (G63), or cutting mode (G64). Command G63 enters the NC unit into a control mode suitable for tapping. This mode has the following features: The cutting feed override is fixed at 100%. Commands for deceleration at block-to-block connections are invalidated. The feed hold function is invalidated. […]
G62 is modal (group 13) — it stays in effect until another code of the same group replaces it.
