Machine-specific. This parameter list is specific to the Mazak INTEGREX e-670H / e-670H-S with the MAZATROL SmoothX control (manual HA64HA0035E). Other Mazak models and control generations use different addresses, ranges and meanings — verify on your own control before changing anything.
What it does

Interference clearance of chamfering cutter

The clearance in order to prevent tool interference with a wall of the workpiece or with the hole bottom during a chamfering cycle Use in the case of D92 bit 4 = 0: The safety clearance (D17) is radially or axially used only when an interference could actually occur. Note : A tip of the tool is allowed to enter the safety clearance area as long as there remains ever so short a clearance. Interferes. Use in the case of D92 bit 4 = 1: The safety clearance (D17) is radially or axially used for restrictively shifting the position of that workpiece section which is subjected to check for interference. Note : No tip of the tool is allowed to enter the safety clearance area. Judged as an interference
